Our insects are mounted by specialists who also mount butterflies for the Smithsonian Institute, so you are assured of the highest level of quality. Our products have even been purchased by the London Museum of Natural Science to be used in their displays.
We go to great extremes to show all the beauty of each item, from making sure the wing is symmetrical, to placing it precisely in the middle of the frame, to even making sure the tongue sticks out. We even wear sterile cotton gloves to make sure the glass stays spotless. All work is done by hand. You may not know that butterflies are actually rated in quality, and we only buy the top rating, called A1. Our beetles are all the largest size possible, and we pay as much as $50 more for some, just to get one tenth more centimeter in size. Our attention to detail means you get the very best quality possible. It costs us a little more, but when our product goes in your home or to a friend, you'll remember the real beauty long after you've forgotten the price.
Our frame allows the real beauty on both sides of each butterfly show through, resulting in a terrific gift. All frames are shadowbox, either natural oak or mahogany-stained poplar wood. When someone sees the framed butterfly, close-up, for the first time, they always say "Wow"!
