Look at this one closely: Notice the red dots that look like chicken pox?
Nature protects its creatures by designing them with tricks to deceive predators. Or maybe the ones without tricks just get eaten and the others survive. The Fulgoridae is designed so a predator can't tell the head from the tail. When a predator goes for the head, it often misses because it has scurried forward.
