Two butterflies in one frame so you can see the amazing difference between front and back. Also called the Japanese Emperor, because it is the National Butterfly of Japan;however, it is actually colored red, white and blue! Red spots on the hindwings look like two red lights among a splattering of white spots. At first the middle of the wings look dark black, but when you change the angle, a brilliant deep blue appears, providing a real surprise. They have a very exciting flight and you can hear the wings flapping up to 15 feet away. You can only find them in dense forest, usually feeding on the sap which oozes from the tree bark. About 3"x3" in an 8"x8" frame. Also available as one butterfly, Sasakia Charonda Butterfly.
